AI integrated robots
Recently, a Norway-based technology company has launched a humanoid robot powered by AI technology, specializing in daily household chores, with the ability to move, interact and perform tasks like a human.
The robot, named NEO, is 1 meters tall, weighs nearly 65 kilograms, can walk at a speed of 30 km/h and run at a speed of 4 km/h. The robot is capable of carrying a weight of nearly 12 kilograms and can operate from two to four hours after each charge.
NEO is integrated with AI technology to gain a deeper understanding of the surrounding environment, thanks to the combination of senses and physical body.
NEO has the ability to continuously learn and improve its features, knows how to handle fragile items, and interacts well with humans.
Those who are positive about AI hope that this advanced technology will facilitate many tasks and jobs to be solved through automation.
Building AI Capabilities
However, with the emergence of AI integration tools into robots, many scientists are concerned that this technology may increase violations of human privacy. In response to the risks that AI can pose to humans, many countries are starting to consider plans to better manage access to users' personal data from AI.
The European Union (EU) has recently proposed regulatory measures to protect personal data and inform users about how AI uses information. The bloc is also finalizing the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and plans to add a Harmonized Code on the Use of AI, as the technology becomes more widely available to people.
AI operations and management are also a major focus at the Artificial Intelligence Conference. world in Shanghai, China on July 2024.
With the theme “Managing AI for the benefit and for all”, the conference focused on three main topics: Core technology, smart terminals and empowering applications. Mr. Seizo Onoe, Director of the Telecommunication Standards Bureau, International Telecommunication Union said: “Building AI capacity is very important. We at the International Telecommunication Union have reached a consensus that no one will be left behind in the AI revolution. That means we need to develop this capacity for developing countries”.
Participating businesses brought to the Conference the latest AI products and solutions. More than 40 smart robot models were “introduced”, the most ever, of which, 25 humanoid robots were given a special area by the Organizing Committee.
Some impressive robot products include Tesla's Optimus Gen2 robot, or the Healthy Loong robot that can simulate human movements and uses open source code, helping the robot to constantly update and learn new skills.
Potential investment destination
In Vietnam, in 2020, scientist and AI expert Pham Thanh Nam and his colleague Pham Minh Toan launched an AI robot named Tri Nhan. This is the first AI robot in Vietnam, belonging to the high-end robot line with human-like characteristics.
According to expert Pham Thanh Nam, Tri Nhan converges many typical technologies of the 4.0 industrial revolution including AI, big data, internet of things, cloud computing, 3D printing, blockchain, virtual reality, augmented reality, supercomputers, and bioinformatics.
Vietnam's launch of the AI-based humanoid robot Tri Nhan has inspired and created great motivation, marking a new development step in science and technology.
In the month of March 2024, Anan Technology and Development Joint Stock Company also launched a personality recognition robot through facial analysis using an artificial intelligence camera called Anbi. This is part of the AI robot ecosystem that Anan programmers have been nurturing and researching for many years. Inspired by the name of the famous teacher Chu Van An, Anbi is an intelligent tool, based on Big Data and AI, capable of interacting in natural language, understanding and responding accurately to conversations in Vietnamese - all in real time and with high flexibility. Standing out with the ability to understand more than 80% of the conversation content, Anan can automatically recognize and respond to user intentions without relying on a fixed script.
Currently, Anan has brought AI technology to many organizations and events such as: Discovering knowledge with AI teachers at Vinschool primary and secondary school system; Provincial Startup and Innovation Festival Bac Giang The first time in 2023; Science and Technology Mathematics Festival 2024, teaching and learning in the AI era at Vinschool Ocean Park High School... Positive feedback on AI robots is opening up great application potential for this field in Vietnam.
According to Dr. Andrew Ng, a scientist in the top 100 AI experts in the world, he is very optimistic about the future of Vietnam in general and the future of AI technology in Vietnam in particular. According to Mr. Andrew Ng, Vietnam is a very potential AI investment destination.
Clearly, AI is contributing to the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and promises to bring unlimited potential in the future. However, facing the benefits and harms of AI, we need to use this technology properly and responsibly.
Only by applying AI intentionally can we exploit the full potential of the technology, contributing to the progress and sustainable development of human society in the future.
